In the production of perfume, these can also occur in combination with oil mists. While end consumers sometimes buy the products precisely because of their pleasant smells, the substances emitted during production can cause considerable odour nuisance to local residents.

Our UV systems and catalytic oxidation (KatOx) plants are used by renowned manufacturers in the industry to protect local residents from unpleasant odour nuisance.

Irradiation with UV light in the photo-oxidation systems oxidises and breaks down odours, including organic sulphur compounds. In combination with the downstream catalyst, the limits specified in the Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control (TA Luft) are not only complied with, but significantly exceeded, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere. Depending on the concentration, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are broken down using UV light or catalytic oxidation in order to comply with the legal limits.
