Corona Discharge

NEUTRALOX® Corona Discharge

Applied inside of rooms and buildings, NEUTRALOX® Corona Discharge units purify the indoor air and hence improve working conditions.

Based on air-recirculation, the process minimizes the demand for fresh air and consequently reduces heating (or cooling) costs significantly.

Air ionisation is a natural process, which has deodorized and sterilized the atmosphere since the beginning of time. On a smaller technical scale, this happens through application of electrodes, which are separated by a dielectric barrier (Corona Discharge). Around the electrodes positively and negatively charged ions are formed. The generated ions have higher additive properties and oxidation capabilities than neutral substances. 

Positively and negatively charged ions oxidize and neutralize air pollutants at the molecular level within seconds. The treatment units re-circulate room air and enrich the air with free ions. In this way the air is regenerated continuously. Besides the oxidation of odour substances, ions also inactivate micro organisms like germs and molds. Applied inside rooms, the indoor air becomes significantly fresher.

NEUTRALOX® Corona Discharge units are pre-mounted and compact units with minimal installation, operation and maintenance demand. On wastewater treatment plants the units may be used inside of process buildings, like headworks, screen buildings and dewatering buildings. The units may be operated in stand-alone mode, or in combination with off-gas treatment units. The advantages of the technology are:
